You deserve everything you have coming to you if you drive without insurance. YOU are the reason everyone elses premiums are so high.

Edit: well, part of the reason anyways 😛

actually no, those people are the reason why FULL COVERAGE is high, and why uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is high. Bad drivers are the reason why basic liability is so high, since insurance companies use statistics to determine premiums.

A message to all under 25 drivers:
Don't drive till you hit 25, you're the reason why everyone elses premiums are so high 😛

nope, we pay that cost directly. bad under-25 drivers are the reason 23 year old drivers with clean records (like me!) still get wrecked on insurance.

I think the goverment shouldn't even let you register a car unless you have pre-paid for insurance for the entire time of the registartion.

Florida is like that. If your insurance gets caqncelled for whatever reason, on a car you have registered, they suspend your driver's license.

Of course, most of the morons that drive w/o insurance probably don't care if they have a suspended driver's license or not.

Gez, I dont pay insurance b/c its so high. My age group 18-25 is high risk, so it cost a ridiculous amount of cash. But never once caused a wreck. I think its unfair.

If insurance is too high, I guess you shouldn't be driving...

Snoop, et al agree.

Also, all the whiny young drivers can please feel free to blame the actuaries for your costly rates. We obviously have no clue as to what we are doing, as the loss-ratio statistics are of course in your favor.

You should be low risk. Really.

Haha

Honestly, I think any young person who believes that our age group should be low risk is naive at best. The way most of my friends drive is just plain scary. I'm by no means the best driver, but I do consider myself to be a competent and able driver. Unfortunately, I'm just not old enough to get a decent rate.

Of course using the same reasons, insurance for drivers over 50+ should be sky high.

It's a good idea, but maybe it falls under some sort of privacy thing? I dunno, I should ask someone sometime.

Because when YOU cause an accident and you don't have insurance, the other person's insurance company is left holding the bag and has to raise rates across the board for its policy holders to cover medical bills for the person YOU hurt.

Too bad I don't know your name or I'd call your local police dept. to let them know your address and your warrant status.

And what incorrect data might you be basing that misassumption on?

Agreed. Old people may drive slow, but as a group, I bet they're a hell of a lot more careful than 16-25 y.o. drivers.

I think we all could use some stats 🙂

If you honestly think the reason insurance rates are so high is even proportionately related to the number of claims involving uninsured drivers, you know absolutely nothing about the auto insurance industry.
