a mouse popped into my attic

I was out with the boss last week at work. We were in the woods, and he was looking around for a property corner. A mouse with a nut in his mouth ran across a branch that was a couple feet over his head, then stopped to analyze the situation. She(I think) decided she didn't care, ran across the branch, and stashed the nut in a hole. She came back out, ran across the same branch, but this time upside down(easy grab if someone wanted to), got another nut, and ran it up to a different hole in the tree. My boss moved on, and I watched this mouse scurry all over, gathering food, and not giving a single fuck about anyone. or anything else. Pretty amusing, and I've never seen a mouse so unconcerned about humans before.

Mice outside are cool, I discovered a mouse all curled up in a bunch of chewed up TP at the bottom of my backpack at the end of a 4 day hike. I Wondered how long he had been in there. Maybe they are using humans along the AT for transportation >:

Black Squirrels the ones usually the PITA in my experience, and they get pretty big and worth eating.

The little pineys are the ones I've normally seen do a lot of roof damage, I wouldn't eat those.

But don't know what's going on your place I guess, you did say yard and not roof.

The Reds we'd usually leave around and shoot the Blacks.

Sounds almost racist, upon reflection, but was just for what one type did inherently as far as squirrels go I guess.

Now I'll be accused of starting squirrel racism 🙂

Black squirrels are cool looking. Almost everywhere around here has grey squirrel, but there's a section of the county; maybe 10^2 miles that has black squirrels. I always look forward to seeing them when I drive that way.

Ran into a black squirrel once, they're strong little buggers. He had the plug for a power bar in his mouth after chewing it off the wall and was dragging the whole stereo system out of the house.

hahaha

your silliness thread brings back memories of circa 2001 when some danged mouse popped outta someplace....hahaha
