Wouldn't a mouse design like that increase the chance of one's "clamminess" getting in contact with the electronics inside the mouse? Isn't that a bad thing?

this reminds me of my mouse-modding idea.
I want to take the guts of an optical mouse, and put it into my logitech mouseman (old 3-button style, looks like a small foot). I love my mouse, but I'd like it to have optical features. Since they aren't making any like this anytime soon... I figured I'd try. Any suggestions as to how?
