A more efficient way of entering values into SPSS

After transforming and labeling new variables, is there an easy way of entering the vales if you are doing multiple variables with the same values. So far, I have been doing them individually, but it seems like there should be a way of selecting all the variables I want and entering the values once instead of doing it individually...anybody know??

spss sucks, we use it at work to analyze survey data and i think ite realllly inefficient
