This may not be something you want to read about so close after the holidays, but here goes anyway.

8 people were killed and close to 200 injured in a fire that swept through a cafe during a late New Year's Eve party here in Holland. Deaths could rise up to 20 as a lot of people are still in critical condition.

All victims were between 17 and 22 years old.

yup. Somewhere, sometime today, a house completely exploded. The shockwave was felt some six miles away. The natural gas company didn't find any evidence of leak with their hardware and hasn't had any in the past, there. Now the ATF agents are on the case.

The explosion killed an elderly couple in the house, and made the houses around it (two houses away in each direction) "uninhabitable" due to extreme damage.

That's a freakin' huge explosion, too.

(saw this on the local news. No link yet.)
