Was talking to another AT member and he told me about Patriots Point in S.C. I have never even heard of the place before. Looks incredible. Have any ATOTers visited? What were your impressions? What else is there to do in the area?

Here is their website.

Hell yeah. I was talking to him about the USS Alabama in Mobile and he told me about this place. Man, I want to walk on the deck of the USS Yorktown! Way bigger than the Alabama.

I've been. Its fairly nice.... especially if you are a military HISTORY buff. Lots of WWII and Vietnam-era planes, equipment, etc. If you're expecting the bells and whistles of modern naval aircraft (or ships!), you'll be disappointed... but otherwise its great.

I grew up very close to Patriots Point and it was one of my favorite places to go as a kid. Being a Navy brat, it was to be expected. I went back and toured the sub as an adult and I can promise you that there is no way in hell I would ever get in one of those things again. They also have a very nice golf course at PP if thats your thing.

Then it's right up my alley.

Hannover, thanks for the info.

I've been wanting to go for a while now! Is that the one in Charleston? I've been on the USS North Carolina in Wilmington several times. I can never get tired of going there, I can imagine PP is 10x better.

Yes, Jason, it's the one in Charleston. If you didn't already check out the link in my OP.
