They don't say what he is violating. Is the beams not secure and the house can fall or is it there are not enough outlets per 6foot rule type BS.

<-- Did a add on so knows all the good and real reasons people fail inspections but also the BS ones.

I highly doubt he used a structural and civil engineer when putting in those telephone poles. One day that building could fall like a house of cards!

It's in California. You have to beg four different bureaucrats for permission to hang a picture here, and of course pay all the proper fees. This guy will lose, the structure will come down, unless he greases the proper palms.

I want to know exactly what he's violating. Is it really some stupid stuff, or something more major?

And instead of saying "you need to fix these things" they want it torn down?

Sigh.

California is dumb.

Some of the cities in California are also dumb. I know a guy who bought a previously existing building with septic...city wouldn't approve an overhaul of the septic system and required him to extend the city sewer system to the buildings... Cost of permits before a shovel ever hit the dirt? $40,000.

I don't know exactly what violations he's breaking, but I hope he can at least fight for the option to fix them.

I normally don't have any problem with "code enforcement," but it sounds like they're going a bit past "reasonable," and becoming more interested in vengeance and payback for him fighting their system.

HOWEVER, one of my neighbors built an un-permitted pool house that attached to his house, and the county made him tear it down. Had he gotten the necessary building permits and building inspections, he's have been fine.

He's in earthquake country, and I'm going to guess that when the next one hits, that place would come down like a house of cards. Still, kind of cool looking.

Aren't there parts of Texas that don't have zoning laws? He should have just built it there.

In a lot of rural area's at least in Arkansas you don't have to have any sort of permits to build.

I get the feeling that it is coming down. Or at least large parts of it.

You can't let people violate the law just because they build something that looks 'neat' otherwise everything would go to hell.

i.e. I could build a full size replica of a pirate ship and turn it into a home. Would certainly be 'neat' at least to me :)

That's Uncle Jessie in the pictures, Boss Hog's probably the one behind it, he's obviously doing this to get back at Bo & Luke for always getting away from him.

Karma's a bitch.

He is an idiot.

If he moved to Texas, he could have built whatever he wanted; so long as he used illegal immigrants and then turned them over to the authorities.

He could have had the pleasure of shooting one of them as well!!
