Unbelievable. You can't own jack these days without the threat of malware.

I wonder if you had an ITX computer with a firewall/HIPS running say Sophos or Untangle if the malware could get past?

Apparently one of those ways is a fear mongering employee of a security firm going to great lengths to intentionally install malware on his TV. :rolleyes:

I can't stand this whole IoT world. These things are never implemented with security in mind, and in some cases are even implemented with spying in mind. Look at Samsung TVs. Visio TVs do it too.

Were at a point where we'll almost have to design our own stuff if we want to be safe. That's why I roll my own home automation and don't use any of the stuff you can buy. The concept of "smart" things is great, but the execution is poor.
