Saw one of these when I was younger (think it was for some school related activity). Really, really weird.

UC Davis grad here. We had one on campus too. Mostly for the vet students but they'd bring her out on Picnic Day and trot her around.

Seen this before I think. I have a hard time deciding if that's cool, or cruel. The cow does not seem to mind it I guess, other then banging around in the cage lol.

If you're into other weird stuff on that show check out the sheep castration one.

did that with my dad when i was a kid
and we cut off the sheep tails
castrating pigs was the worst , they squeel a lot more and louder than a sheep or a cow

This is nothing new. When I was a kid... really for as long as I can remember... (30+ years ago) the farm at the University of Alaska Fairbanks did this. All the cows on the farm had these 'windows' installed on them.

I haven't been up there in a few years but I assume they still do this.

"Stomach contents: One deviled egg."
- "Deviled egg?!"
"...the same deviled egg."

...so I can feed a cow beef jerky with one hand, wait for it to enter the opening, take it out and feed it to the cow again? cool.

They keep these around for donor rumen contents for sick bovine. I would think that every large animal hospital would have one. Its doenst adversely affect the quality of life for the cow. The one I have seen at UW-madison is quite well taken care of.

But as far a peta goes, they are against any people owning animals for any reason whatsoever, so i'd imagine they would not like this.

Wondering what PETA thinks is like wondering what a guy in a mental institution that just shit himself for the 3rd time today thinks.
