hey all,
i rarely benchmark my system and when i do i either use Sandra 2001te, or Dr Hardware. usually i dont care about CPU or Memory speeds, what i am more concerned about is HDD speed. well the other day i noticed that my system wasnt running quite up to par compared to what it used to, and i just recently reinstalled the OS (win2kAS), so i decided to do a HDD benchmark in sandra 2001te. i got a score of 13000 and an average seek time of 13ms??? this doesnt sound very right. i even did a boot time defrag via diskkeeper before hand. anyone have any ideas? the system specs are as follows...

CPU: AMD Athlon 900MHz @ 1066MHz
Motherboard: Iwill KK266-r
Memory: 512 MB of Cruciual, Kingston PC133
Video Card: Hercules 4500 (Kyro II)
Hard Drive: IBM 60 GXP 20.0 GB @ 7200 RPMS
Additional Hard Drives: Samsung 6 gig 5400 rpms
Monitor: Cybervision C70
CDROM Manufacturer & Model: Aopen 52X
CDR/CDRW Manufacturer & Model: I/O Magic 8x4x32
Storage Interface: IDE

Sound Card: Onboard
Internet Provider: AT&T @home
Internet Connection Type: Cable

Internet Connection Speed: 2200 mbps
Operating System: Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2

not sure why i would be getting such low performance out of this system....it used to fly!

the Samsung drive is on the AMI raid controller...the IBM is the only drive on the VIA ata100 controller. i have a cdrom and cdrw on the secondary controller and as mentioned the samsung is on the ami controller.
