i am setting up a raid 0 on my abit kg7r, with two identical ibm deskstar 41g ata 100 drives. i am at the current bios level with the latest highpoint drivers (to my knowlege). when i view the highpoint bios setup utility, it says the first drive mode (hdd0) is at ata100, it says the second drive mode (hdd1) is ata33. i've been thru the bios, checked over the drives for any hard settings, and can't come up with an explanation. if i swap the drives, the situation remains exactly the same, which i guess would tell me that the issue is not with the drives. and, i do believe that the previous raid i ran with these drives was exactly the same and i never noticed it. maybe this is normal? anyone got any thoughts on this? thanks, zz

nope, can swap cables, the problem stays with the second (or fourth) ide port, no matter which cable or drive is on it. thanks for the reply tho. zz

I have had a simliar error happen to me on a highpoint RAID card. Honestly though I forgot how I fixed the problem. I would try changing the drive jumper settings from master to cable select or vice versa.
