A little question...

I´ve got 2 separate hd´s;
C: with windows and E: with games.

On C: of the I have the OS(and alot of other junk) and on the other one i have a lot och games installed.
If i format C: with windows on,do I have to reinstall the games on E: due to registry problems?

Another case for forgetting all about keeping things separate on their own nifty partition for no obvious good reason. I could never get the idea behind wanting everything categorized on different partitions. Put them all on the same partition...

johnnypc: the reason i do it, is because, if i run into probs and need to reinstall windows, if i format, i will lose all my program files/dirs, INCLUDING winamp skins, skins for other programs that i do, saved games, etc. etc

We all know that we never, ever have to reinstall Windows (lol).. It's a very, very good idea to keep data (service packs, some installers, mp3s, pr0n) on a separate drive (or partition) to avoid losing it all when Windows or the C drive takes a dump. Also, a lot of corporate NT installs have a 2GB FAT16 partition as the C drive and the rest of the drive formatted as NTFS on a separate partition. Makes sense there to change the default install for most programs to the D drive.

Wyrm2001: Yes, you will need to re-install you're games on E after a clean install of Windows on C. However, if you have levels and all that you want to save (so that you don't have to start over in all your games) here's a tip. If you have a D partition, drag and drop your games' folders to D. After you reinstall your games on E, drag and drop the folders from D back to E. (It will copy over them.) Then delete the folders from D.

If you don't want to reinstall, you can always do some registry tweaking. It isn't hard to do.

Hmm..I dont think ill get into any reg tweaking,beacuse that would probably ruin the whole system! 😉
