I'm shopping on the web, and I was looking for the Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160 GB SATA on a shop's web site and I saw this:

160 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA-150 7200RPM 8Mb 9ms OEM -Requires Power Cable - 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty

Where can I find Power Cable? And this Seagate is a bit expensive. For the same price, I have a Maxtor Retail? What do I do? Keep the Seagate and buy a power cable ($$$) or take a Maxtor?

Power cable is a few $$ . . . what PSU do you have, it may already have the power cable . . .

The pwer cable connects the hard drive to the PSU. Look at your PSU connections, you should have a couple free. Just connect to the hard drive. Hope this answers your question.

The PSU is the one included in the Antec 1080 Performance Plus. I didn't told you that I didn't buy the computer so I don't know if some are available. Anyway, is it worth the money, this Seagate?

Also, what's the best nVidia card manufacturer? Cause I'm looking forward the 6600 GT AGP 8X, but hesitating between the MSI one and the XFX one. The XFX is like 15 bucks cheaper.. but I don't think the package is as big as the MSI's.. so... help me :p

These are not the links to the shop I wanna buy them, but it is just to show you the HD.
Why do you need Power Cable with the Seagate, and not with the Maxtor or Western Digital?

The WD and Maxtor has both standard 4-prong power plugs and the newer SATA power plugs on their drives (you can use either), while the Seagate has only the newer SATA plugs.

That Seagate will come with a power cable adapter to go from standard four pin Molex to SATA power.

I'm not familiar with the Antec 1080 Performance Plus, but I would hope that it comes with a Antec PSU. The Antec PSU no doubt has a SATA power cable coming out of it. It's the 5 wire cable and one of the wires is brown.

I just noticed that you also ask whether you should buy the Maxtor or the Seagate.

As for me personally, if the Seagate were more expensive I would simply give blow-jobs at the bus station for a quarter apiece to make up the difference before I would buy a Maxtor. At least in that case I would have a drive that will continue to work and I could maintain a little bit of self-respect at the same time.
