a little psu insite please.... thanx .

first off i know if ultra rep for making so-so power supplies, so please dont badger me.... lol . just kinda wonderin if my 750lsp pro is good enough for my setup i guess . wondering if its enough to handle my setup overclocked . gettin some lockups/shut downs during gaming .

Theoretically, it should be enough. But if this review is indication of your PSU's capabilities, then it is quite possible you are putting too much of a load on it. The Phenom 9850 needs a lot of juice, and even more when overclocked. Is your system stable if you just put a load on the CPU alone, like when running Prime95 or OCCT? If it isn't, then I would first put part of your stability problems on the overclock itself. But if it is stable, then your gaming problems are most likely the result of the crappy PSU.

You should get a new power supply, or turn down your overclock.

Doubt its the supply being capable, this is actually one of the better Ultra models. 12V@45A is more than enough for what you have.
I have one of those same supplies, going on its second year with a Quad Core @3.2GHz, 4 Hard drives, Geforce 8800GTX, DVD burner, that pc literally runs 24/7 . I have never had a single issue with it.

The problem with Ultra is they outsource their PSU. You never know from one model to the next who really made it. The 750LSP was made by seventeam, a pretty good company.

Well you could always test your luck with OCCT's PSU test, which basically puts the GPU and CPU under load at the same time. If the power supply can truly deliver 45A on the 12V rail, then it should handle the test just fine. But if not... well I just hope nothing terrible happens.

Oh and does the shutdown/lockups occur in every game you play?

so far with crysis and gears of war . dont really play alot of different games at the same time . usually stick to one game until i finish it .
