** A little note for the Queue operators....(private and public) -- Resubmit your WU duplicates for possible CREDIT!

Just a little tip for those who may not know (I didn't)....

Many of you may have "Duplicates" stored in your queues.....I hadn't really paid attention to this before, but tried the old "Drag and Drop" of the Dupes back to the "Client" directory a few days ago....and received CREDIT for 64 out of 67 results! 🙂

If you have any duplicates in the CLIENT\Duplicates directory....CUT and paste them into the CLIENT directory...restart your Queue and hope for the best. If they are rejected again, try later...as they may go later...

This could be worth hundreds of WU's sitting idle in your Queue as duplicates...

Good Luck...

and as usual...

more..more...more! 😀

OK I went through a bunch of dups a while back but can not locate them. Seti Queue version 3.03.1.7

Where would this clients\duplicates file be located? I ran a search for these folders... no luck 🙁

Any ideas?

Tarca,

Not sure about he 1.7 version, but I have a CLIENT (no S) directory under my SETIQueue Folder...and in the CLIENT folder, I have a DUPLICATES folder. I'm running 22b version (newest) of the Queue...so it may be different for 17....not sure 😕

Anyone else know...?

I wonder if I upgrade they will be there?

Give it a try when I have DSL back

Big storm Tuesday night took out a router, switch. modem, nic and I don't know what else I don't even want to boot up the rest of the machines🙁

Tarca,

I checked my work Queue...and there was no Duplicates directory there either...

Since that Queue flushes to my laptop Queue and I take it home to flush, I guess it doesn't get a Duplicates directory as its not directly connected to Berkeley when flushing...hence no way to know if they were duplicates or not....maybe I'm wrong, but I have no Dupes folder here...so I would guess that is what it is! 🙂

worked for me, only had 5-6 but I set up an automated job to move everything over once a week so I don't have to keep checking it. 🙂

Thanks for the clairity Engineer...

I found 19 of them in my old SetiQueue at work. I know that 9 of them were from 3 weeks ago when we had bandwidth issues.

If no duplicate error is received then no duplicate folder is created

Thanks for the reminder btw ,havent checked my mates in ages!

Don't work for me... 🙁 Since march 15th, I'm now losing 12% of my work production due to these "duplicate" results... 🙁

muttley,

The name of the directory usually looks something like...

"Queue\Client\Duplicates"

Move the duplicates from the "Duplicates" folder back one level to the "Client" folder. Restart the Queue...and hope! 🙂

ok I cut everything from the duplicates folder and pasted them into the client folder. I restarted the program and noticed no change and then restarted the computer twice.

Any suggestions?

I copied everything from client on down to a backup folder just in case.

How long does this process take????? will some of it be returned to the duplicated folder?

Usually, after restart SETIQueue...you'll see the results counter at the bottom look something like:

r:0(10) where the 10 would be the duplicates resubmitted (by you when you moved them to the client directory. It may take a little longer to resubmit them then normal WU's...not sure why...just checking them I guess. Yes..some or all may be returned to the Duplicates folder. You can try again later, as it may take them somewhere down the line 😉

Even if you get only 1 WU out of this...that's one more than you started with! 🙂

(Especially since some poor PC crunched on it! 😀)

Yeah, I copy my \dropped and \duplicates back every couple weeks or so. Haven't had many recently but I remember a few weeks back I had about 20 between the two folders.

Just checked. I had one result in \dropped. Thanks for the reminder and alert to other users! 🙂

ok thanks.

And also I'll try the one droped in the same fashion.

Thanks all,
muttley
