Installed a new 1tb hard drive I can read and write using sudo nautilus, but it won't let change permissions so that i can access it as a regular user, I think it finally let me share the main media folder, but I need to read and write locally. Thanks for the help

Where is it mounted? mount
What are the permissions on the mount point or directory you want to use? ls -ld /stuff

Its mounted media/disk , It says I am not the owner so I cannot change the permissions for both the drive and directory, I try to change the using sudo nautilus but have be unsuccessful. Btw using Ubuntu 8.10, should have said that first. Thanks todd
