I am wanting to buy some new pc stuff, and I am not sure where to start

I know i want to buy a new video card, motherboard, hard drive, optical drive, processor, and ram...

I really dont have a budget, just whatever it takes. All that really matters is that I want the BEST...

yes, the BEST... i want it for gaming...

by the way, i looked over the buyers guide for this month, and it really doesnt help that much, i am just looking for some suggestions, anything would help, i appreciate it guys...

Athlon 64 FX 53 (socket 939)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (works for me and is good but some people have had problems)
2GB of RAM (PC4000 if OCing, PC3200 with low latencies if not)
Nvidia 6800Ultra (very hard to get hold of at the mo)
2 74Gig Raptors in Raid

Thats a good place to start for a good gaming machine

How could the buyers guides not help. They have them for every price range and they give alternatives. They also explain why they've chosen the items.

The BEST is going to cost some cash. It's really best to have some idea about price. You can spend anywhere from $700 - $5000 depending on what you get.

You'll need (at least):
- Case
- Power Supply
- Mobo
- CPU
- RAM
- Hard Drives
- Optical Drive

Check out www.newegg.com and read some product reviews. Also check out the recommendations on the forums for other people asking about building a PC. You could also buy one pre-made from Alienware or some company like that.

dood did you read the guides they tell you the best components on down and tell you the benefits/risks/etc. that go along with them
