Hello Everyone,
I have a question. How do I disable my wifi on my router? I went on my computer and then brought up my web browser and then went to the page that I use to communicate to my router , you know that page that uses the http://192.168.****

So after I did that and implemented a new password I then went to my two TVs and had to install the new password on both of them to be able to use my Roku. well, that worked fine but my cell and another persons cell still worked without having to update to the new password.

What did I forget to do?? and why would the TVs work but not the cell phones? Thanks, James

Cellular?? well I had to log on before using my old password for my wifi. So does cellular mean that I can use my wifi without a password? just checked and my cell says that it is connected to my wifi. Thanks for try though.

Who is your ISP?
What is the model number of your router?
Is your router provided by your ISP?
Why do you want to disable your wireless?

Your post is confusing to me. If you desire to disable your wireless, why would you be setting up a new password for it? You need a password to log into your router and a password for your wireless. Disable wireless = no wireless password needed.

Just for informational purposes there is no need to mask out internal IP addresses. Nobody can do anything with a 192.168.1.1 or variations thereof because they are not within the public IP range. I could post the internal IP of every device on my network and there is no security risk.

Most routers now have two wifi bands a 2.4GHZ band and a 5GHZ band, if you had only changed the password on the one band that the tv/roku uses and not the phone that could be why the phones still connect to the wifi without the need to change their passwords
