A little help please

I dont really care which format is better, or whatever. What I care about is the quality and support I am going to get for MY TV. My HD tv doesnt do any better than 1080i. It is a rear projection, and i love it, but Im not sure what exactly to do here. I am interested in moving to a high def player for my home theater system. Does it make sense with this tv, or should I just wait, and get a 1080p lcd then throw the money at it?

You can feed it component out for HD movies ONLY (and at 1080i)!!! You cannot use the DVD upconverting function of the player unless feeding your TV HDMI.
Now I can't really tell you how to set it up since I don't have any of those players, but that is how it goes.

If you are any good at not messing things up.... Then you can clean the lens tops by taking off the back of the TV, the large part, and then cleaning them with a microfiber cloth that is dampened with a non-ammonia glass cleaner, or use Sprayway.

This will make the picture BRIGHTER!!! and give you more contrast.

You will get 1080i via component with the HD movie.

You cannot however upconvert DVDs. You can use them in 480p though.

Your TV has a DVI input so you could always use an HDMI to DVI cable to hook it up and that way you will be able to upconvert DVDs as well. Don't worry about the resolution so much since 720p and 1080p will mostly be determined by the size of the TV and how far you are sitting. I used to have a 42" 1080p Toshiba LCD but it broke so I replaced it with a 50" 768p Panasonic plasma and the plasma's PQ is a lot better than the LCD when I watch blu-rays and hd-dvds and just in general.

Any BD player or a Toshiba A3 would fit the bill nicely. There is no need for the A30 and only get the A35 if you need analog audio outs or bitstream hdmi audio.

that is my reciever. I am also hooked up to my xbox360, my verizon box, and my upconverting toshiba dvd player. i have the dvd player going into the reciever via component, and the sound through optical to the reciever. the xbox is also component with the hd pack for it and using the sound that is built into the cables. the verizon box goes hdmi from the verizon box to the tv, and i am using coax into the reciever for surround. should i swap the hdmi and the component cable? or will that not matter since no matter what i am going to be using component to go into the tv. i think the only option is to get another reciever with a few hdmi inputs... thoughts?
