Hello!

I'm trying to make the perfect SFF that would be both awesome looking (sleek, and small) as well as as little cabling as possible. This is for a second computer in my house (and i have a wireless router).

The main purpose of this computer is to a.) record from TV. b.) burn DVDs.

I set up a wishlist at newegg and these are the items i put together for a sff computer (although the case isnt going to hide the dvd roml like the shuttle xpc does. unfortunately.

Please note, im TOTALLY open to ANY suggestions. I want wireless in ANYTHING possible. i have a wireless usb adapter at my house for the LAN, i have a wireless keyboard/mouse added to my cart. I was looking for something to wirelessly send my TV (coax) to my computer, to record to my HD, but it seems i cant find one. If you guys know where to get any other wireless options for this, please please please tell me. Also, i'm open to any suggestions for other cases, etc.

Also, can anyone suggest an item to record from TV to HD? i dont think that ATI radeon 9100 that comes with it has anything that will do that. =/ Think i'll go with that WinTV 150 thats 99 bucks. Once agian, the problem is, i hate cables. and wish there was a wireless solution for this. 🙁

Oh, not that i think about it, seems i need speakers as well. heh. Dangit. Are there wireless speakers? ;]

thanks for any help.

The first two cards look like they'll fit in the case if you simply remove or also modify and replace the rear bracket. As for speakers, there are "wireless" speaker systems that still need to be powered and attached to the source.

Don't ever get a refurbished Harddrive.
It is never worth it. If it dioes you lose data and alot time rebuilding.
Get a refurbished video card or case or anything else. Not the hard drive.

The Biege dvd is going to be ugly. NEC and LG are both good DVD writes are are just as cheap in black. Same with floppy drive.

The WIN PVR is on sell some where for $60 cheap out gottadeal for it.

the case i chose was white. black drives on a white case might look tacky, if you ask me.

the harddrive had a 3year warranty. but now that i think about it, 3 years isnt long. :/

i know at my church they have this setup where the tv output signal from a camcorder downstairs is wirelessly transmitted upstairs where it is displayed on a tv and speakers. I'm not sure what kind of equipment they use, but it doesn't look cheap, and the receiver is huge. That's probably not what you're looking for, i assume?
