I got a big project for government due this year and been given/chosen the topic of mergers. Basically we have to pretend we're in the house of representatives and have to write/create a new bill that we deem necessary to our country. I have a couple questions...
1) who regulates/approves corporation mergers?
2) what do you think is a bigger problem - big corporations merging or big corporations buying smaller companies, thus creating a mini-monopoly of some sort or making it extremely hard for competitors to compete
3) what exactly is wrong with our current system? I know there was a lot of debate aobut the HP/compaq merger, but from what i read wasn't that mostly just between the stockholders and the interal company management.
