ok I have a bottle of arctic allumina thermal compound do I also need the epoxy for the heatsink or can I just use the heatsinks clamps?
 
You are not supposed to use AATE or ASTE on CPUs. It says so on the AS Website 😉

Get AATC or AS2 for your CPU.
