my comp sat in my car in the heat for about 30 mins, now it has a little burning smell, whats this smell coming from and is it harmful? or just a smell that sometimes occurs?

okay dont put comps in cars in the sun for too long ... BMW mesured heat in their cars and it can vary from as high as 130°Celcius to as "low" as 80°C when exposed into direct sunlight for an hour (the high tem is from a black-coated car the lower one from a white painted one ...
I dunno if these figures are true (the where marketing speech for their Airco sys that got rid of these probs) but if they are only a litl' over the top (say 30° overdue ..) then it is still a harmfull temperature for yer comp ... especially scince the case was not in the trunk or so it was also exposed to the heat .. so I suggest the next time you do that to put it in the reunk (unless it is a 5door car then it doesnt really matter) but you should cover it up with a blanket or so to protect it from the heat ...

does htis burning smell mean something is damaged if it seems to be running now? or does it mean maybe the psu or something wont last as long??
