A little BH6 help with 1 ghz celeron and ASUS Sloket S370-DL

Hey guys I'm trying to build a lower end system for my sister, and being the cheapass bastard I am (hey I'm in college 😉) I figured I'd use my old Abit BH6 and get her a Celeron 1 ghz. SO I build her the computer and everything goes fine (installation was a breeze) but I start running some heavy apps (Bryce 5, Adobe 6 ect) to test the stability. And suddenly the computer freezes up, errors all over the place. Sufficide to say I'm not a happy camper.

I go through the process of trying to trouble shoot the problem and eventually I came to the conclusion the motherboard is the culprit.

Background info on motherboard:
I bought it when it FIRST came out (right after I read Anand's review) and ran a celeron 300a at 450mhz for a good two years. Then one day I noticed the system started getting a little buggy, lockups program errors. So I just assumed I reached the life expectancy of my Celeron, after all I wa running it beyond spec and at a higher voltage. So I drop the FSB back down to 66mhz and run the celeron at default speed. Everything runs just fine, much slower but reliable again.

So fast forward to present. The 1 ghz celeron runs at 100mhz FSB. At first the problems seemed to indicate a faulty PS, but I eleminated that possibility.

What I would like to know is there anyway to be sure it's the motherboard? If it is the culprit is there anyhting I can do to fix the problem? How many of you out there have been using a celery 1 ghz on your BH6's and has anyone experienced failure or instabililty like mine? (when I researched on the newsgroups I found every post I read came up with success even though the BH6 doesn't offically support processors that fast).
