getting a new rig for college...
i havn't slept in 3 days reading up on reviews and such.
am at the point of 2nd to 3rd hand advice ^_^ ,\/..

i need some suggestions on fairly quiet system
- 1.2 gig t-bird
- (looking at) Epox 8k7a & 8k7a+
- 1 or 2 256 ddr pc 2400 mushkin sticks
- considering kyro II
- need a new power box that will get the job done and let me sleep too. heh

mainly .. the HS + HSF + the case fans trouble me the most... i cannot seem to tackle or come to terms with what would be the ideal choice.. (somewhat of a bad perfectionist)

not goign to clock anytime soon... considering
- swiftech MCX - 370 link
for my clocking needs later on ... a quiet system is becoming more of a necessity but expendable to a point.. i was thinking get this sweet HS and get like a panaflow hsf...

(note * someone told me that the MCX - 370 is't going to fit on the epox 8k7a... hmmm)

thanks for your time...

- 1.2 gig t-bird If you're not overclocking, and you want a quiet system, make sure you're happy with the stock speed.
- (looking at) Epox 8k7a & 8k7a+ The "+" has onboard IDE RAID...not worth it, IMHO.
- 1 or 2 256 ddr pc 2400 mushkin sticks Ummm...get Crucial PC2100. Unless you like paying more for nothing.
- considering kyro II Geforce2 PROs (32MB and 64MB) are getting cheaper by the day.

Sanyo Denki 60MM fans are super quiet. Pair one of those with any good heatsink (here's one...cheap!), and you're good to go; it will have no problem running a 1.2GHz Athlon at stock speeds. Your other option is pairing a good heatsink with a 60MM to 80MM fan adapter, and buying a super quiet Panaflo 80MM fan.
