I have no idea where to post this....

I've got a Dell Vostro 1500 with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM and an 8600mgt graphics card... with Windows Vista Home Basic in it. I also own a HTC touch cruise (The older Polaris model... with Windows Mobile 6.1). Both are getting kinda crappy, but hey, I can play Portal 2 on my lap at decent settings, and I can still make phone calls with my cell phone.

Now I need to make a decision... which is more awesome to get for me:

A brand new Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S2 seems like a nice option, but I really need a good camera, browsing and battery life (Something like if I do nothing but a few phone calls it should last for more than one day - Something my current phone doesn't do at all)

OR...

A Toshiba Satellite L750-x5315 with 4GB RAM, Core i5 and a 525M graphics card with Windows 7 HP. Some more games at higher settings for me!!

As you can guess, I only got the cash for one of these. My first idea was to go for the cell phone and upgrade the hard disk of my current laptop (120GB ain't enough!) to 500GB. But the though of going with Vista for a few more years or Windows Mobile 6.1 for a few more years... I can't decide. Somebody help me!!

P.S. : This really is getting out of hand for me here, so thanks for the help in advance! :)

I'd go with the computer because I spend more time on the computer than my phone. I prefer to put my money into the things I spend the most time with.

Which one do you use more on a daily basis? Personally, I'd go for the new laptop, but that's only because I spend more time on my laptop than my phone. :)

I use them both at present and I need them both. I take pics with my cellphone and I send them over with my laptop. Also I play games a lot.

At first I was almost convinced a new cellphone would do the trick and I could survive on the laptop for just a few more years until Windows 8 comes out. This is under the assumption that everyone will treat Vista like "If it works on Windows 7, then it'll work for Vista". But I am really not sure if that's going to be the case now.

I was kinda hoping that there would be this 'one' really important thing I forgot to consider while thinking about this and I thought I'd see if someone else knew what that was. Something on the lines of "This runs on Windows 7, but not Vista" or like "Your cell phone can't even last for 24hrs without doing anything? You really need a cellphone".

All I have in mind now is to make the decision that I won't regret later because of some new thing that my older devices won't be compatible with.

I use them both at present and I need them both.

You may use them both, but what do you use MORE? For example, I use my phone and my computer every day. However, my phone I use about 15 - 30 minutes a day while I use my computers multiple hours a day. Because of that, as long as my phone is functional for what I need it to do I'd spend the money on my computer.

Ah, like that. Then the decision goes straight to the cell phone.

But that's why I said I thought at first a new cell phone would do the trick, but I just want to know if the "If it works on Windows 7, then it'll work for Vista" will go on for the next few years.

IE10 is one example (not the best one I can come up with), and I want to know if there are any other features that I ought to know of Windows 7?
