With all the mx's ti's ultra,pro etc..
It gets really confusing to make a decision on which card is better than which:like which is faster,a geforce 2 ultra or a gf4mx 440?
So i guess what im asking for a is a general progression in terms of performance on the gf line of cards.

<< Would you mind including the Quadro's and Go's too please.

Thx

In gaming performance:

GeForce2 MX200
GeForce SDR
GeForce2 MX
GeForce2 MX400
GeForce4 MX420
GeForce DDR
GeForce2 GTS-V
GeForce2 GTS
GeForce2 Pro
GeForce2 Ti-VX
GeForce2 Ti
GeForce2 Ultra
GeForce4 MX440
GeForce4 MX460
GeForce3 Ti200
GeForce3
GeForce3 Ti500
GeForce4 Ti4200
GeForce4 Ti4400
GeForce4 Ti4600

The GeForce4 Ti series is as yet unavailable, but I list it anyway.

There are multiple variants of the GeForce2 Go with varying core and memory clocks, varying memory bus widths, and varying amounts of RAM so I cannot situate the GeForce2 Go in any single position.
It's more appropriately compared to other notebook graphics cards anyway.

I'll also pass on listing any of the many Quadro/Synergy variants of the GeForce line as there position will vary DRASTICALLY depending upon whether your referring to gaming performance/3D Modelling/CAD etc.
Again, their much more appropriately compared to other professional level graphics cards.

This is merely a 'general' listing though, as depending upon the individual game and resolution/color depth, and whether FSAA is being utilized etc. the ranking may change slightly.

First, the nVidia food chain

GeForce 4 Ti4600
GeForce 4 Ti4400
GeForce 4 Ti4200
GeForce 3 Ti500
GeForce 3
GeForce 3 Ti200
GeForce 4 MX460
GeForce 4 MX440
GeForce 2 Ultra
GeForce 2 Ti
GeForce 2 Ti-VX
GeForce 2 Pro
GeForce 2 GTS
GeForce 2 GTS-V
GeForce DDR
GeForce 4 MX420
GeForce 2 MX400
GeForce SDR
GeForce 2 MX200
TNT 2 Ultra
TNT 2
I'm not going back any farther

Now for ATi (not including AIW cards)

Radeon 8500
Radeon 7500
Radeon DDR 64
Radeon DDR 32
Radeon 7200
Radeon 7000 DDR 32
Radeon 64 SDR
Radeon 32 SDR
Radeon PCI

Not going back any further

Now for Matrox
G400 (comparable to GF DDR)
That was easy

I'll eschew 3dfx, since they're dead.

No G200/G450/G550? :)
BTW, the G400 would get kicked around badly by the GF DDR it wouldnt even be vaugely competitive. Even a GF2 MX400 is far faster then the G400 Max, let alone the regular G400.
The G400 Max is more realistically comparable to a TNT2 Ultra/V3 3500, with the regular G400 performing more in-line with the V3 3000.

Matrox in terms of performance would go...
G400 Max
G550
G400
G450
G200

I would almost expect the GF2 Ultra would be faster than the new GF4 MX flavors but I could be wrong.

I did see the GF4 TI 4600/4400 prices on pricewatch today but they are not going to be out for a week or two. Although for the PNY card, it didn't have a release date so maybe it's out already.
