Speaking as someone who doesn't own one, and never will, it seems to me that if you can't bear to have it live the life of a car, then you should park it indoors and drive something else.

The inconsiderate asshole, old lady in the wind, kid who needs to open door 100% at maximum speed, soccer mom who lets shopping cart roll away and drives off on their cellphone. That life of a car?

Yeah.... There is a lot more to the life of a car other than where you park it.

Nice to see him blowing through all his money at a young age. He's well on his way to being yet another broke NFL star after he retires.

But he'll have a hell of a story to tell. What's the point of being a successful professional athlete earning 8 figures a year in your 20s if not to spend it on absurd luxuries like fast cars and ridiculous velvet ropes? You're only young once, and the vast majority of people on Earth will NEVER have the chance to do what he's doing, regardless of how much money he winds up with down the road. Live life to the fullest.

Trouble is he'll be in his 30s when he retires and his money runs out. That leaves a lot of time left to be broke.

Can't find a good youtube clip of Homer Simpson when he's buying that big SUV and the guy lays all these ridiculous terms on him. He responds "But that's not for a while right?"

yeah but so what? After the lifetime of concussions, he'll basically spend the last 5 or so years of his life as a drooling vegetable, more or less unaware of his current poverty and the life he once had--then he will die young, ~52 or so.

Sucks to play in the NFL :(

That's a very nice car, I wonder why he parked that close to other people considering he could get into an accident with someone driving and staring at his car and then losing control.

I don't quite get what point he's trying to make.

I drive a compact Japanese sedan. I have no delusions that it is an Italian sportscar.

I still park away from people. Generally, any location big enough to have a 'back of the lot' with a long walk, is a location full of retards and douchebags. I don't want door dings. I don't want my car fucking hit-and-runned, for that matter. I don't want some lazy fat shit's shopping cart slamming into it.

Away from the masses, and, if at all possible, behind a curb. Always.

Seems silly to use a car you will be that paranoid about. They are pricey though, but what is a bonus is some models hold value incredibly well. A friend I went to university with has a Countach that is still worth about $400,000. He only drives it for a few months a year and it costs over $30K to insure for those three months.

A toy requiring healthy wealth to enjoy....and velvet ropes!

That's Marshawn Lynch's car.

It was being made fun of on ESPN's PTI b/c of the velvet ropes.

The point I'm making is that if you drive a car, on the road, to places, it's going to get dinged up eventually. Because it's a car.

i'd rather live in oakland than san jose.

Really? Been in both places. I agree, Oakland is a shit hole I'd avoid going to.

There is a whole lot more to a place than its crime rate. Look up the crime in SF and you'll be surprised how comparable it is to Oakland. Yet, people focus on crime that occurs in Oakland and for the most part ignore the stuff that happens in SF. I went to college in Downtown San Jose and there Just is not much to do there. I regularly went to SF and Oakland just because of how little there was to do in San Jose.

Right, but in over three years, my car has gotten like one or two door dings. If I had been just squeezing into crowded area next to trucks and SUV's (a.k.a. what the parking lots around here are full of), I'd probably have...god knows. Too many to count.

Why is it strange to elect to have your car continue to not be a dinged-up mess?

Is that what he thinks it is worth or could he actually sell it for that?

Who said it was? To re-state my point for a third time: if you can afford to buy a car like that, and you elect to drive it on public roads and park in public places, then you can afford to deal with ordinary wear and tear.

Is that anywhere near clear enough?

Isn't it ironic that He'd probably bottom it out if he went 45mph on that shit road. Income inequality wins!
