George Kennedy, the hulking, tough-guy character actor who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of a savage chain-gang convict in the 1960s classic "Cool Hand Luke," has died. His grandson Cory Schenkel says Kennedy died on Sunday morning of old age in Boise, Idaho. He was 91.
RIP. :(

Cool Hand Luke. Best supporting actor Oscar.

I just took a look through his IMDb resume and was genuinely surprised at the lack of quality films. The Dirty Dozen, Cool Hand Luke, The Eiger Sanction, Death on the Nile, the Airport movies.

Poor guy. At least he lived a full life. Cool Hand Luke was historic!

So sad. I was watching The Gambler 3 days ago and thought the old man in the hospital was him. It was, and was surprised he was still alive. Really liked him as an actor.

I think the first thing I watched him in was Airport. Recently I watched him, and Clint, in the Eiger Sanction.
