I just got photoshop and I was using it. when I used it I noticed that my page file usage was at 1.11 gb. Not including Imageready. Should I get upgrade to 1.5 gb? Im probably going to add flash to the mix too. So what do you think?

What are your system specs? I ask, as not every system can support 1.5gb (i.e. dual channel 939 A64/X2/FX).

How often do you photoshop? All the time, or occassionally?

Bumping your total ram (above 1gb) makes a difference to certain applications, but not all. But the price premium is fairly high for dual channel 2gb kits (if that is you situation).

i'm running on 384 mb...its a pain the the fvcking ass, but at the same time (if the rig was current) i'm not sure i would spend $200 for an inconvienence.

for photoshop, 512mb definately is NOT enough, but if you dont use the program very much, it probably isnt worth it.

The 939 dual channel only supports 1 single dimm or matched pairs.

You could try 2*512mb + 2*256mb to get 1.5gb, but there are no guaruntees that this will work. The A64 controller is super picky, and you would probably wind up running with reduced bandwidth + 2T + poor timings (if at all).

YOu seriously need to read.

YOu can load the memory banks and the COmmand Rate will merely be reduced to 2T (as with any board except some lucky 955X boards).

No offense but you have no idea what you are talking about:

The 939 dual channel only supports 1 single dimm or matched pairs.

Ummm no. You can use 1,2,3 or, 4 dimms. Matched pairs mean absolutely nothing. Additionally, with 4 dimms the older cores (pre-venice) use a 2T command rate and underclock to 333mhz.

You could try 2*512mb + 2*256mb to get 1.5gb, but there are no guaruntees that this will work. The A64 controller is super picky, and you would probably wind up running with reduced bandwidth + 2T + poor timings (if at all).

Why wouldn't this work?? It is not super picky. It works the same way any other board works. As for reduced bandwidth, i have no idea what you are talking about; the same goes for not working at all.
