While horrific what I said still applies. Carjacking at night is a random crime.

Why are black people who commit horrific crimes labeled as animals? Gary Heidnick committed crimes equally horrific yet was never labaled as such at worse insane.

There seems to be this jealous false equivalency permiating P&N.

I would agree if the crime the OP is talking about was race based. it was not. it was just a bunch of sick animals that happened to be black and the victim was white.

Sorry I did not reply in 2009... but this started out as a car jacking. We need Moonbeam in here to explain hate. You don't go from robbery to torture unless there is hate involved. These black thugs were taking out their hate on their white victims.

But think about the crime. A car jacking. The victims were tied up and put in the car. The female was later taken to the house. There was no attempt to shield people or locations from her. The perps knew they were going to kill her. She was raped by the thugs, raped with some sort of object, they poured bleach down her throat, covered her face with a bag, stuffed her in a trash can where she died of asphyxiation. You can honestly tell me if the couple who were carjacked were black... would have met a similar fate?

I disagree. This case sounds more like what happened in the stanford prison experiments or the events that happened in abu ghraib. I am in no way justifying the events or excusing the perpetrators. Just that you don't need hate to forget prisoners are still people.

Where are they when a couple was brutally attacked and killed in what has been called one of the most heinous crimes in the state of tennessee?

This was a carjacking that happended in January 2007, but the trial is going on now and horrific details are emerging. Such as the boyfriend being penetrated forcibly by an unknown object while racial slurs were yelled at him. This was of course before he was raped by several men before being killed. The girlfriend had it worse.

I am just curious if anyone has heard about this outside of Tennessee? I live in Nashville, this happended in Knoxville, and there is barely any news coverage on it.

So if you have not figured it out, it was a white couple and black assailants. Unlike Tawana and Crystal, this did occur. Maybe race was not the motivation... but could you imagine the scene if the assailants were white and the dating couple was black?
