A History of Violence

Just got back from seeing this movie. I usually HATE David Cronenburg movies, but this one...

This one was amazing. The bloodshed was FAR beyond anything I expected. Actually, probably the most brutal display of movie violence I've ever seen, I'd think. It's not a mindless thriller, it makes you think, too. Best movie I've seen so far this year, and unexpectedly too.

I enjoyed the movie but there was a couple of serious scenes that had half the audience un easy and the other half bursting out in laughter.

That's Cronenberg for ya.

it was pretty good, suprisingly humorous at times...and the first time I've seen people in a mainstream movie with their faces blown off.

wtf i just started a thread on this movie after searching for it and nothing coming up ... great search engine

anyways, i thought the movie was pretty bad. It was just too drawn out and there were too many scenes where absolutely nothing happens. The action scenes however were well done but they weren't good enough to save this movie. Viggo sucks if he's not in LOTR. Hidalgo sucked and now this movie is not really worth more than a rental, if that. I would not recommend this movie.

And as another poster said, there were some sex scenes that were just laughable and made people in the theatre kind of uneasy and laugh at it, especially the "cheerleader 69" scene.

just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it sucks when the majority of people disagree
