Just for giggles I want to see if I could squeeze as much performance in a small Mini-ITX case as I can. This what I came up with using the LIAN LI PC-TU100A case.

Yes there is a GTX 1080 Mini in there. The case doesn't has room for a full size card so the 1080 Ti is out of the question.

I have some concerns about air flow and heat in a case of this size using such high end components however. would that be a problem?

I think of doing this every time I upgrade my gaming PC but I stick with a full size case instead so I can use multiple low-speed 120 - 140 mm fans, a Seasonic PSU (currently Titanium prime), a massive CPU air cooler, larger and quieter GPU.

For me it's a choice between size and quiet, and quiet wins.

I can't blame you for wanting quiet at all. In any case this would be a powerful system in such a small case. Of course another good choice would be the Silverstone Milo 08B or the Fractal Design Node 202 cases. But the last two are fan less.

Don't forget about TT Core v1 and CM Elite 110. These two can house ATX PSU and accomodate some lengthy GPU as well.

Just built one using an NZXT H200i case. Not exactly a small case, but it seems to be the smallest that would fit an ATX psu, regular sized graphics card, and a 280mm radiator. I've re-used one of my old GTX980 cards while I await the new nvidia gpus.

That is a nice case, but is there a version without the glass panel?

To be honest I am more likely to go with a Micro-ATX case since that will be small and still give me some extra expansion slots if I need them.

Not that I know of. I really do like the glass panel, which is a surprise. Never thought of myself as someone who likes bling, but I set the LEDs to a steady white so it just illuminates the inside of the case.

After using ATX motherboards for years and not using the expansion slots for anything other than GPUs, I finally decided that mITX is the way to go. I had SLI in my previous system, and it just isn't worth it.

My concern with glass panel is that they can break or get scratched up. Yeah I've always used full sized ATX board since I built my first system. But I never used the full number of slots.
