I am going to order an OEM heatsink from Tiger Direct. After figuring out my dugdet situation, I have about $40 to spend on the heatsink/thermal paste. I was never planning on Over clocking, but now Im starting to think I might. If I do decide to over clock, and a good heasink and thermal paste be had for $40?
If not, what would be the cheapest heatsink and thermal paste that would work for not over clocking? THANKS!

im now going for the 6300. So I have much more money to spend on one. Do you know of one from either new egg or tiger that would work best?

I'll just address my opinion to the thermal paste, because I've been doing a little experimenting with my HSF lately -- removing and re-installing it several times...

You're going to hear a lot of ppl say AS5 is the 'best' thermal paste, and it IS a great product, but I'm not so sure about it being the 'best'.

I tried some Scythe MX-1 last week (and again this week) and it's different -- I like it. The jury is still out, as to whether or not it's the 'best', but I have a *feeling* it's going to turn out to be 'better' than AS5 -- but, neither one is 'cheap'!

I would suggest spending a couple of bucks more and go with Scythe (a.k.a Arctic Cooling) MX-1. It's, like, $8 dollars a tube, compared to $6 for Arctic Silver 5 (depending on where you buy it)... ;)

*edit*

w00t! Same price (different size) at the egg...

Arctic Cooling MX-1 Thermal Compound - Retail (2.0 grams)

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM (3.5 grams)

Still, out-of-pocket is the same!
