PFFFFT! What kinda pansy-ass rant is this?
rolleye.gif

Judging by your thread title, I thought this was going to be a GOOD rant about how EVIL children are with their snotty noses and disrespectful mouths.

Instead, you take the Minivan-driving-soccer-ball-sticker-on-the-window high moral ground about how we should punish people that "even think of harming children."

I'll bet if you saw me smack my son's ass in the middle of the supermarket b/c he tore down a shelf of jars, you'd call the cops on your cell phone and report " a case of child abuse." Wouldn't you?

No, no, no. You misunderstand adult experience for crankiness. You must remember, I have been there, done that. You have yet to emerge from Mom's house.

You do? OK, I didn't know that. Fair is fair. But still, I rant from experience here...I just can't STAND people with blinders on...all that "children are such gifts" crap sickens me.

Don't think you are exempt because you exercise your freedom to press the quote button to bash someone from a website

I've been coping with the stresses of the real world for much longer than you have been paying taxes buddy. Your ability to speak does not make you intelligent.

I just got finished watching Cops on Fox tonight and this idiot was running from the cops in a stolen SUV with his wife and their 7 year old daughter in the back seat.
OK, which part did you not understand from the original post? Hey Mike, normally I' m cool with what you post, but seems to me you overlooked a little something as an excuse to vent.

You just had to disqualify me on a technicality, didn't you? ;) :p

I dunno; his Lovey-kiddie, Soapbox Preaching just rubbed me the wrong way I guess. I have been up for too long. Need sleep. But I'm not leaving yet. I'm not argued-out yet.

It's all good, just wanted to make sure I had the proper comprehension after 7 beers. Besides, I've given ol' hopper his share of chiding. (What the hell was up with those Grasshopper points and hugs anyway? Shudder....)

Brilliant, now lets look at my post again:

I get that alot, Happy. I also remind people they are dead just like in that post. In order to change, which naturally you have just stated is impossible, you first have to confront the truth. If you don't like what the truth is and turn from it, naturally you can't change. That's why we don't change. The truth is horrible, the last thing we would ever want to believe. That's why so few know. You have to die to know the truth, or rather you have to realize that the state called normal by sleeping humanity is in fact a form of death. We don't know what we feel, that we hate ourselves. It's too painful, we think, so we repress it. But every child comes into the world alive. They demand we be alive too. It's just too much to ask so we make them stop one way or another. We make them into just what we are in the same way we were made that way.

The truth is horrible. That is why it's unknown. To awaken is to awaken into horror. Sorry, it can't be otherwise. It's the way it is. I'm deeply sorry. I wish it were otherwise. There is no hope without awareness of the enormity of the problem.

I understand your feelings and sympathize with your surrender to the impossibility of change. Now you know why. It could change everything.

Lets pull out the relevent parts:

You said: Acknowledging the problem is the first step to recovery.

I said before you:

In order to change you first have to confront the truth.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Acknowledging your plagerism is the first step to recovery, cougar. So few words, so little understanding.

Of course it doesn't. I know that I know nothing, and that is the most important thing one can know.

I've been coping from the "stresses of the real world" since the minute I was born, the details of which I won't go into here. What I do find issue with is the need to bitch and moan about everything. After a certain point, one learns to hush up and deal with it.

I'm not implying that you do that about everything. I don't know who you are or what you are like in real life. But what I have seen is a tendency to rant about some things that logically don't really need to be ranted about.

For example, children aren't all fun and games. That's obvious from anyone who's been a parent or had young siblings. They're hell; they whine, they cry, they make scenes, and much much more... sometimes, they need to be physically disciplined.... DUH.

I'm not in the mood for a protracted flame war, I have finals to study for. Later.
