i have speed fan and it shows one of my temps...it doesnt tell me which one...but it shows it at 118 c!!!! is that possible without burning it up??? or is it just reading wrong...it really scares me...any help of suggestions i would really appreciate it.

just an update it can be correct ive touched the mobo right to the side of the sb chip and it isnt hot at all around there...i dont know what the deal is

That wouldn't be on temp 3 would it? I can't be of any help, but I got one high reading like that too. Just got my core2 rig up and running today, and saw that. Scared the crap outta me, so I reseated my hsf. Still got that reading with speedfan, but all looks good on PC probe, so I'm just ignoring it for now, but I'd like to know what's up myself

i atually didnt think that was right but who knows...lol...i figured if it was really that high it would have been toasted....oh well who knows
