A good remote desktop?

I am in search of a good, inexpensive remote desktop software package, preferably one that I can install on my laptop to allow me to visually interface with my computer at home when I am away. Not really in need of a high end secure package, just something that will do the job so I can run some things while I am away.

Are you running XP Pro ? Remote Desktop (native to XP) is the most inexpensive of course.

RAdmin from famatech.com is also another popular solution and that costs only $35.

there is somethign called TIGHTvnc, which is far better than VNC, uses better compression, yet is completely ripped from vnc and is compatible with its viewer

can anyone link a very easy tutorial on how to setup nvc or tight vnc. Believe me I have googled.

I can make tight vnc work in my LAN but making it work thru internet is another question.

Usuall problem is dynamic dns--most home isp's and how to configure it to work thru a router.

I use RealVNC most of the time.

My Win2K3 server runs Terminal Services, so I tend to use that too.

my problem is linux (redhat), I want to login into an existing session. I haven't found a solution for that yet.

Ultra VNC is what you want. The only one that allows for file transfers between the two machines.

I run XP pro on all of my machines... so it's Remote Desktop all the way.

I use VNC with putty whenever I wanna work from home. I use port forwarding that lets me login on the linux server through putty and then use VNC viewer to control my work pc.
