like the title says.

i want some dual monitors 🙂 i already have a leadtek geforce 2 MX in my AGP slot so that's why i need the PCI card(not crazy after all) but i've been looking around and can't seem to find any, more like i dont know which brands are good.

i was thinking about getting the matrox G400 but i heard the 3D performance wasnt so great(going to be playing Counterstrike ALOT) anyone hear any good things about the new MAtrox G550? better 3D performance?

thank you in advance

Matrox isn't known for it's high 3d performance.

I would look at a Geforce 2 MX Twinhead or at a ATI Radion.

If you are running Win9x you should be able to put any PCI vid card in and get twin monitor support.

Are you talking duel monitor support in CS or just for standard applications?

I dont think you can run 3d apps on the second monitor. Same for video's and other things like that. The os is the problem. Also the best pci video cards you can get are 3dfx cards.

i am running win 2k. i would be using the second monitor for standard applications(web browsing, word, etc)

It dosn't really matter what the 2nd card is, so long it is a resonable card. All it should ever be doing is some 2d work.

I have never used twin cards in w2k, so I can't tell you how well it works.

i actually used dual cards in win2k. i took a voodoo 32mb PCI card from my sisters computer and installed it into mine. it was working fine except that i couldnt strecth the desktop over both monitors but i really didnt want to do that. that's why i am trying to get hold of a voodoo card b/c i know thye work fine.
