A good *free* program for recording streaming audio?

Just looking for suggestions for a good program, freeware preferred, that would let me record anything that my sound card were to output, such as streamed music or whatnot.

I use Polderbits (from Holland) for grabbing streaming audio - especially from my XM radio. It is not free, but very good and very reasonable. It works also on my Vista laptop.

if you have windows xp, it has windows recorder which works pretty good. It's under accessories->entertainment->sound recorder.
