Here's a few suggestions off the top of my head:

Fuji Finepix 1400

Fuji Finepix 1300

Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart C315

Olympus D-490Z --- Hot Deals thread

Here's how to find more info and the best prices:
1) Visit the General Hardware forum and search for CAMERA
2) Visit the Hot Deals forum and search for Target, Olympus or Fuji you will find that select models of Olympus and Fuji digital cameras are on CLEARANCE at Target. Several people have saved over $100 by picking up one of these clearance cameras.

Hope this helps.

Target B&M is selling one, something like $150-200 1.3 or 1.4megapixels

I've used both the Fuji's listed.

They are both nice! I'd get the 1400 because it has a zoom. It'll run about $250 last I checked. (USD)

Also, may I suggest paying 100 more and getting a DC4800 if you can afford it. I think you can still get one for under 400 in the HD forums and it's a 3 megapixel camera.

Kodak DX3500 or Canon PowerShot A20

anyone hear of these?

I am willing to up the money a bit i guess, what the hell.

Yeah, and why do you need a super high megapixel...can't printers only handle a certain amount?

full page, 8x10 prints. Those 1 megapixel cameras are only good for 4x6 or so prints before you start seeing pixelation. A 3 megapixel camera will print out good 8x10s. Try an 8x10 print with a 1 megapixel camera and your picture will look like playing quake at 512x384 (this means very blocky looking for those of you who don't know computer lingo ;))

I got a slightly used Casio QV8000 in the For Sale forum for $225. It retails for $500. The camera rules and I am sure similar deals can be found.

regarding pixel density, look at situations where you'll be using the pics. Quite a few of ours turn up in Power Point presentations and when they're blown up to 6'x6' you can really notice the ugly shots.

here are a couple other sites to investigate.

camera world
camera zone
digital reviews

I use the Olympus 3030Z but the 2020 and 2040 also look good.
