Does anyone know about getting a credit card for someone without much credit history, or with bad credit history? Something to get them going on the right track in the world of credit?

Thanks for any help/recommendations!!

I think a secured credit card is what you're looking for.

Yep, best way to start your credit history. Use a secured card for about a year, pay promptly and always more than minimum, then after a year try a good bank for a cc.

I just was also referred here for anyone thats looking for a credit card:

Those APR rates are way too high IMO. My highest APR on one of my cards is %10.99, the other 2 are %6.9. But my CC score is 783, which I guess is considered pretty good even tho I have 15k split between 3 cards. Sigh, debt sucks.

Well here's the thing...this card is not for me, its for my buddy that has bad credit. He screwed up and didn't pay some bills a few years ago and never paid the collections people until recently. So he needs to get a card to reestablish credit. The thing is that he makes a lot of money and he would pay it off in full every month. So the APR is less important than the approval.

That's it. I had no credit history whatsoever and got a secured credit card from my bank (Washington Mutual) to help establish credit.
