a good 80MM fan

ok here is my idea, i think i am going to make a 60mm to 80mm fan adapter. i have a fop38, trying to maybe get a quieter fan. any way what kind of decibal range is the fop38 putting out??? i want to go about 10 less (doesnt it double every 10???) ok so what is the best 80mm high output fan for this job??? sunon, panaflo, delta, anythoughts??? one last question, what if i put a 60mm fan mounted on the side of the heatsink as well, is that going to disrupt the airflow and screw me over more then help???

The fan on the FOP38 is 46.5dB, adapters work poorly on the Fop series its best just to mount it straight on, you get better results and cost you alot less money and trouble.

A fan on the side won't do anything for you

As for fans the Delta FFB0812SHE does 68.5cfm at 48.5db, tho the db levels may be louder.. to your ears it doesn't sound as loud as the FOP38 fan, less annoying, not as high pitched, deeper noise. That will get you performance equal or better then your current setup.
