I was looking for a present for my dad (he's turning 50 I believe), and I figured the most useful thing I could get him was an air compressor. My total budget is ~300 bucks (not a lot, I know). So far the only one I've come across is this Craftsman one. I figure it has enough CFM to run basic air tools (Impact, Air chisel, sand blaster [maybe], and paint sprayers). Think this would be good for that?

Oh yea, this is gonna be used to help restore an old car he has, thats why those functions are most important.

I have that one and it is adequate for average stuff but high speed whirly tools that need to run for any lenght of time like drills, sanders, cut off wheels, etc kick it's butt. Plus being oil less its loud as hell. If I could do it over again I step up to a 240v 10ish cfm @90psi oiled compressor. Might be difficult to do for $300 though.

That link doesn't work for me but I'll add this. I have a Craftsman air compressor that I got from my father in law when he upgraded. He used it for everything, painted 2 cars, air tools, media blaster, you name it. It's still going strong. He'll love it, it's very useful.
