A general thought: Do you point all of your remotes at the TV?

I was laying on the couch this morning, surfing the DirecTV box for a good show to watch. I was so bored, that I somehow noticed that I always point the remote at the TV, even though the remote isn't actually controlling the TV itself. I do this with my surround system remote, as well as my DVD player remote.

It never makes sense to point all remotes at the TV. Why do we do this?

This is possibly the stupidest question ever asked on ATOT (besides 97% of YAGT), but I'm bored.

I bounce the signal off of walls for everything. If I'm sitting to the extreme side of my TV, its the only way I can control the Tivo/DVD player/DSS reciever anyway.

It wouldn't do me any good to point it at anything. My remote runs on RF. 😛

Although, I do occationally point it at the GF and hit the mute button... too bad it doesn't work.
