Was on my way home, coming around a relatively high speed corner in the rain on the outside lane. School buses in the opposing lanes. As I came around teh corner, I was faced with a sliding (hydroplaning) shortbus very much headed in my general direction.

If I didn't know how to threshold break, I wouldn't be neffing right now (I lack ABS, and I also lack *AIRBAGS*) Came within about 3 feet of the bus, which ended up about 6 inches nose-off a telephone pole right next to me.

is "threshold brake" a real term ? You mean brake just enough to not lock the wheels, correct ?

They didn't really stop. I just waited to see what the deal was, they waited until traffic cleared (except the massive backup behind me) and backed up and went on their way. Apparently there was no damage done internally (Understandable, seeing as they only use short buses here to transport single wheelchair-bound students who are very securely strapped in) and for small field trips.

It makes sense as the term, I've heard it used, and it sounds much less gay than "pumping the brakes" (which isn't what you really do, anyway)

Actually its all part of a ploy. What you didnt know that the driver of the short bus is in cahoots with ATOT. So he moved the bus along at a decent speed, swerved the tires 45 degrees and slid on the water towards you which in turn you had to avoid which of course in turn gave you an excuse to come down and create a new thread on ATOT.
So it looks like the plan worked to give you a opportunity to make a contribution in your virtual life since your real life totally sucks.
