A fun/reliable used car in the $10k-$15k range?

I currently have an '06 Mini Cooper S. I really like the car, fun to drive, etc., but I really need to cut back on my car payment so I'm thinking of getting rid of it and buying something in the low teens to $10k range. It'd be nice if what I bought was somewhat sporty, yet reasonably practical too as it will be my only car. Something reliable as I bought the Mini new, and would hate to buy a used car just to have a bunch of headaches based on the poor treatment by the previous owner.

How are Scion TC's?

I'm looking for a car btw, not interested in a truck or SUV.

A used Mazda 3 S would probably be one of your best choices. It will be closer to $15k than the $10k though.

miata. They are totally practical as long as you only have one friend or make somebody else drive.
