The game goes like this: Name two songs that have damn near the same part in them - for instance compare Coldplay (in my place) with Matthew Good band (she's got a new disguise). The beginning of the coldplay one sounds like the exact same as beginning of the Mgb except an octave higher. There are lots of songs that do stuff like this but I can't think of the others now, but I hear them from time to time.

So engage in this fun game. Have at 'er and list songs that have the same sounds in them. And remixes obviously don't count.

A few Oasis songs...The beginning of Don't Look Back in Anger has the C F C F of John Lennon's Imagine. The end of She's Electric with the end of the Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends. Part of Morning Glory's guitar riff copied from R.E.M.'s The One I Love.

Also there are a ton of songs out there that sample directly off the other recording.

they're almost alike, and you can even go a step farther and say the intros are very similar.

I can't get to them right now, but IIRC, Nirvana - Polly and Nirvana - Lith in the beginning few seconds.

I don't know if the same band counts, though.

Also "I Saw Her Standin' There" and "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" both by the Beatles are almost identicle in the beginning.

That's my example, too. I hate it when I get ready to hear a Queen song only to hear trash.
