A+ for Olive Garden

Last night me and my gf went to Olive Garden. We sat at our booth for 10 minutes without even a glance from a server. So we went to the bar and asked if we could order food there since nobody was serving us in the back. The bartender said that we could order food and he would get the manager. We said that it was no big deal and to not bother, the bartender leaves, and we sat there chatted and sipped on our drinks and thought nothing more of it.

About 10 minutes later the manager shows up and says that he sincerely apologizes for the wait at our booth but we arrived at a shift change and there was a miscommunication about who was supposed to be serving our table and that Olive Garden would pick up our dinner for their mistake. So they paid the tab and we left a grande tip! Now that's how restaurants are supposed to be run! :D

How about providing the location of your Olive Garden and the approx time of shift change? And move this to hot deals. :p

last time i was at an olive garden the food was great, but both the white wine my SO had and the red I had seemed to be kept in the coldest part of a freezer. We were both disappointed a bit and had to wait for it to warm up before we could taste it.

I go to Olive Garden at least once a month, even if it's just for soup and salad. They have good food and good waiters, at least at the locations near my place. I've had one bad experience at another location when I was on a trip, but they're still good enough the rest of the times that I go back to them. They didn't charge us for that one bad experience either and so it all worked out.

That isn't a  from me. That's really the minimum they should do.

I went to Logan's roadhouse a couple weeks ago. I ordered a salmon Caesar salad and the wife got a steak. Well the salad came out w/o the salmon. It was the waiter's mistake. I had to wait 10 minutes for them to prepare the salmon, and my wife had finished eating. Without saying a word, the manager comes out, pays for the entire evening (both meals + drinks) and gives us a free appetizer coupon. I wanted to leave a tip for the waiter but only had credit & there was no bill to pay. I let him know and he says don't worry about it, my mistake, just next time you come in ask to be put in my section & I'll make sure you get great service.

We will definitely be going back! It's just nice to see a company that understands something about how to treat a customer after a mistake.

17410 VALLEY MALL ROAD
HAGERSTOWN MD 21740

We went there around 8:50ish

Anybody else have any stories like this from a chain restaurant?

Yeah it is what they should do, but.... the problem is that nobody does what they should do it seems like!

I'm not saying it's bad food, but what I bolded is true. I went to an Olive Garden about a year back, and a piece of chicken they served me had already been cooked, but was still frozen in the middle.

Sounds like you were treated the right way OP. I like Olive Garden. But then I'm not a miserable food elitist, thankfully.

Who cares?

I don't go to Olive Garden for chicken...

That's like ordering a steak at Denny's/IHOP.

Please explain what you do go for. Is it the Elmer's glue they pass off as Alfredo sauce?
