A Flaming Forum?

This could be a totally stupid idea, but since there seems to be quite a few flame wars cropping up in OT, maybe a forum dedicated to ripping each other to shreds might be a good thing.

Just a thought! I certainly would have no use for such a place, but you could call it "Thunderdome" or something.

😉

Hey, it's not something I want.

It just seems some of the more aggressive members may enjoy such a thing.

There is ALWAYS someone who wants to pick a fight. Seems like they should have a separate playground, no?

Anyway, if I've asked something taboo, forgive me. I am still relatively new here, so if this is a no-no, I didn't know!

oh really...I think that would cause more harm then good 😀 /my lame attempt to flame

actually you never know, its a good idea but, I dont think its gonna fly.

Its got merit, but I think flame wars should stay in OT. That way they'll be about something, not just an I hate you, you are a moron thread 😉

I dont think that the people who flame deserver their own forum. Creating a new forum would just make them get what they want. Its like your are rewarding flamers with their own forum......

Hmmmm, a flame thread would be a good idea - we could even ask for Paulson to be un-banned to add even more authenticity 🙂

Actually, I have always tried to stay out of arguments and I must say, I do fancy a bit of 'going in guns blazing' into a few threads without fear of someone banning me for flaming them.

A lot of times people just want to get into an intelligent argument about two different point of views but when someone "loses" it turns into flaming and a lot of lies start to pop up. The flaming board wouldn't be such a bad idea because there would be more trouble but it would be left inside the flaming board (yeah right 🙁 ).

Flame "boards" have existed on Usenet for years (check out alt.flame). They do no good unless you count training people to be even better at flaming when they post in the regular newsgroups. It has never caused a drop in flames in other newsgroup as far as I can tell. It actually increases them. All you do is cross-post to alt.flame and you draw in a bunch of people who love to just flame and are looking for new victims.
