For the most part, I am pretty happy with XP. There are a few things I need some help with though. Here they are...
1. How do I turn off Auto-Insert notification in XP?
2. When I open Windows Explorer, how do I set it to open up the C: drive opposed to the My Documents section of the desktop?
3. On every boot-up into WinXP Home, it takes about 45 seconds for my dial-up connections to become available. It appears that something in the background is running, preventing me from using the dial-up right away or accessing the Norton Anti-Virus. I believe it has something to do with Norton, but have tweaked all of the settings in the options menu but still has the 45 second delay. During this delay, Norton Anti-Virus autoprotect shows as disbaled. Once the 45 second delay has lapsed the autoprotect automatically enables. I have Norton 2002 so it is the compatible version.
4. In Windows 98SE, if I was in a game, I could Alt+Tab out to the desktop and do other things. I can still Alt+Tab out in XP, but when I go to any kind of typing what so ever, XP halts the program in which I am typing in and send the error report thing. This limits me quite a bit when I am trying to set up IP games with people. I have to completely shut down the game itself, and just use the chat program to gather players, then restart the game again. This method makes it impossible to join myltiplayer games like EA Sports games (NHL2002) which uses an exterior shell to launch games from outside the game itself, using Internet Explorer.
I appreciate any help any of you can give me. Thanks!
